Veronique Cochran arguably introduced biodynamic practices to Bordeaux viticulture. It makes sense, she has legacy in the movement: her father is Francois Bouchet, biodynamic pioneer of the Loire. Veronique and her late husband John Cochran bought Chateau Falfas in 1988, a winery with its own deep legacy going back to the Roman Empire with ties to 17th century English King Edward. Sitting on approximately 20 hectares of Merlot, Cabernet, Cab Franc and Malbec in the village of Bayon in Cotes de Bourg they began crafting wines fully connected to the land. Veronique is known to say that her wines are not “made’ but “grown”. This philosophy shines through in one of the more beautiful expressions of the Right Bank of Bordeaux.

These days the fields are tended by Veronique along with her two daughters Annabelle and Suzanne, continuing a tradition of family practice that began in the Loire Valley.

Les Demoiselles is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot fermented in stainless steel vats and bottled the spring after harvest. This wine is meant to be enjoyed young. And its fresh springtime bottling invokes Demeter, the patron goddess of biodynamicism.

WINE DELIVERY WITHIN THE CINCINNATI AREA

We do our best to have all orders placed BEFORE NOON delivered SAME DAY. All orders placed after noon, will be delivered the next day. Cincinnati orders over $150 in certain areas will receive FREE DELIVERY. Delivery distances defined by zip codes. See delivery zones below.

WINE SHIPPING VIA COMMON CARRIER

Hart & Cru is happy to engage the services of a common carrier on behalf of you/the customer. However, upon purchase, ownership of and title to all alcoholic beverages passes from Hart & Cru to you/the buyer in the State of Ohio. In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations lies with the customer. By placing an order on this site and selecting shipping, you authorize Hart & Cru to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you. 


All ‘Ground Shipping’ orders placed after 12pm on Wednesday will be shipped on Monday the following week in order to avoid bottles being held in non-temperature controlled facilities over the weekend. Orders placed before noon with 2-Day Air selected will be shipped the same day or on the date requested. We are happy to store your order for you until you are able to receive delivery. Please include note specifying desired ship date or reach out to us at thecru@hartandcru.com for any  other requests. 


The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout. 

All orders will be sent with a 21+ signature as is legally required.  The carrier delivering your order will be unable to leave the package on your front door, back porch, etc. without sign-off. Please ensure someone is home to receive. In the event that a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge the purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
