Believe it or not, this is our first wine we’ve carried from the region of Jumilla in Spain. Stratum Wines have a significant sense of place and with a keen sense of farming. This is a fourth generation winemaking family who never had to graft their vines after the phylloxera epidemic in Europe. The average age of their vines is 70 years. Their medium is mostly Monastrell in this part of Spain. As this variety unfortunately is known for making big mass-produced styles of wine, it’s refreshing to see that the Cerron is focusing on quality and maintaining the upkeep of their old vines.   

Monastrell vines were planted between 1911 and 1967. The altitude of this site is around 900 meters in elevation. While the blend is mostly Monastrell, 10% of the wine comprises a field blend coplanted in the same old vineyard sites.

WINE SHIPPING VIA USPS / UPS

The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout. 

In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations or tax requirements rests with the customer. 

It is the purchaser’s responsibility to provide a current, shippable, physical delivery address. In the event a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
