Royal Tokaji is one of the flagship producers in not just the Tokaji region, but also the country of Hungary as a whole. It is a fascinating story as its founding took place just after the fall of communism in Hungary during the early 1990s. One of its founders is the great wine writer Hugh Johnson. Royal Tokaji is famous for their excellent sweet wines, which were all the rage during the 18th and 19th centuries, and also their dry white wines.
Aszu wines, which undergo the rare natural process of noble rot, can not be made unless the harvest was exceptional. In fact, the wine was has only been produced about half of the harvests since the winery's inception in 1990. This is one of the world's greatest dessert wines with decadent sweetness as well as a beautiful acidity which is no small feat in sweet wines.

WINE SHIPPING WITHIN THE UNITED STATES
Hart & Cru is happy to engage the services of a common carrier on behalf of you/the customer. However, upon purchase, ownership of and title to all alcoholic beverages passes from Hart & Cru to you/the buyer in the State of Ohio. In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations lies with the customer. By placing an order on this site and selecting shipping, you authorize Hart & Cru to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you.
All ‘Ground Shipping’ orders placed after 12pm on Wednesday will be shipped on Monday the following week in order to avoid bottles being held in non-temperature controlled facilities over the weekend. Orders placed before noon with 2-Day Air selected will be shipped the same day or on the date requested. We are happy to store your order for you until you are able to receive delivery. Please include note specifying desired ship date or reach out to us at thecru@hartandcru.com for any other requests.
The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout.
All orders will be sent with a 21+ signature as is legally required. The carrier delivering your order will be unable to leave the package on your front door, back porch, etc. without sign-off. Please ensure someone is home to receive. In the event that a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge the purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
