Unfathomable as though it may seem, Chateau Le Puy is currently into its 14th generation… all within the Amoreau family! This domain is situated on the right bank in Bordeaux adjacent to the villages of Saint Emilion and Pomerol, though the wines are all bottled as ‘Cotes de Bordeaux.’ While much of Bordeaux focuses on a style with power and oak usage, this historic winemaking continues on with their mission to make wines true to its origins. Furthermore, Bordeaux isn’t exactly known for its farming practices. Le Puy chose to have their estate both certified organic and biodynamic. While the estate is almost 100 hectares, about half are preserved to the natural forests to elevate the health of the vines.
From a plateau situated near Saint Emilion with the second highest elevation in Bordeaux. The vines are 50 years old. The wine spends time in both large and small barrels, both neutral over a period of two years. This wine is all about the health of the fruit that goes into the bottle.
