Peter Lauer is one of the best winemakers in all of Germany. The reality is his style is completely focused. He takes Riesling, one of the most misunderstood grape varieties on the market, and creates wines with serious expression. The wines are textural, focused, and fairly serious. Riesling, for many, is considered sweet, fruity, and playful even, but here it is in a style that finds itself in the same conversation as classified white Burgundy.
