Hart and Cru has partnered with Enfield from the very beginning. A fitting relationship as both H&C and Enfield know the potential for wine to tell an amazing story. John Lockwood’s story is one of focus and the value of meandering into what you love. Having been exposed to wine farming as a teenager, John had an early start in appreciating the full process from vine to bottle. A stint as a guitar builder, brought him to California, via Oakland. After working a few harvests at producers such as Littorai and Failla starting in 2004, wine became a passion. It was in 2010 while at Failla that he and his wife, Amy Seese, started the Enfield project, which he pursued full time in 2013. His method is to partner with small growers from California's renowned heritage sites in Napa, Sonoma and beyond. The independent growers can change each year because the intention is to make the best wines they can with the fruit from their trusted growers, but never the “perfect wine,” its about the best story. Lockwood's dedication to his craft is evident in Enfield's wines, which are considered some of the best of the New California movement.
The Merk Vineyard is in the Carmel Valley of the Central Coast growing region in California. This is a valley with a mild climate, sandy soils and coastal air nestled below Monterey. Whole cluster fermentation provides structure. Compare to your favorite Burgundy Village!

We do our best to have all orders placed BEFORE NOON delivered SAME DAY. All orders placed after noon, will be delivered the next day. Cincinnati orders over $150 in certain areas will receive FREE DELIVERY. Delivery distances defined by zip codes. See delivery zones below.

WINE SHIPPING VIA COMMON CARRIER
Hart & Cru is happy to engage the services of a common carrier on behalf of you/the customer. However, upon purchase, ownership of and title to all alcoholic beverages passes from Hart & Cru to you/the buyer in the State of Ohio. In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations lies with the customer. By placing an order on this site and selecting shipping, you authorize Hart & Cru to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you.
All ‘Ground Shipping’ orders placed after 12pm on Wednesday will be shipped on Monday the following week in order to avoid bottles being held in non-temperature controlled facilities over the weekend. Orders placed before noon with 2-Day Air selected will be shipped the same day or on the date requested. We are happy to store your order for you until you are able to receive delivery. Please include note specifying desired ship date or reach out to us at thecru@hartandcru.com for any other requests.
The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout.
All orders will be sent with a 21+ signature as is legally required. The carrier delivering your order will be unable to leave the package on your front door, back porch, etc. without sign-off. Please ensure someone is home to receive. In the event that a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge the purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
