Sharing similar soil types with the famous Cote de Beaune, these are wines of the same quality without paying for the zip code. In October 2002, Hélène Jaeger-Defaix took over her first vineyard in Rully 1er cru Mont-Palais from her great-aunt Henriette Niepce. All of the vineyards are managed organically. She produced her first vintage in 2004, with all the qualities expected of the Rully which achieved AOC status in 1930; ever since she has established a vigorous reputation of producing cool and elegant Chardonnay and ripe Pinot Noir.
