Despite the sound of the name, this newly founded domain is named for the last names of the couple, as opposed to… well, a chapel. Founded in the village of Regnie in Beaujolais, the couple has a few other hectares strewn between Fleurie and Chiroubles. The couple met while David Chapel was working for Mathieu Lapierre, famous winemaker of Domaine Lapierre. They still collaborate with Mathieu and Camille Lapierre on particular projects. Respecting the land is a priority as the couple uses only garden tools and a cable plough. Keep an eye on these two, as their great venture has only just begun.
This is the couple’s only venture in the cru of Fleurie coming from the vineyard of Charbonnières. Fleurie is often touted for its elegant and floral styled Beaujolais. These are vines aging up to 60 years in age at an altitude of 460 meters. The site has been farmed organically for about 20 years, a rarity nowadays.
