The name reflects the history; Billecart-Salmon was born of a marriage and remains a family endeavor to this day. In 1818 Nicolas François Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon were married. They soon established an estate in their hometown of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and began producing wines with the valuable input of Elisabeth's brother, Louis Salmon. From the beginning a commitment to quality was central to the chateau's mission. In recent years, Billecart-Salmon has re-committed to ancestral methods of farming and tending, using horses, sheep and goats for vineyard management in the Clos Saint-Hilaire, a single hectare (around 2.5 acres) of Pinot Noir vines. These moves are all an effort toward that motto of quality, which means showing what the land can do as transparently as possible. Sitting on a few miles of chalk tunnel cellars and over 200 hectares from which they draw for their wines, Billecart-Salmon is a fairy tale story in an already enchanted wine region.
Blended from the best crus of the Montagne de Reims and the Grande Vallée de la Marne vineyards, this bottling is a tribute to the founder Nicolas François Billecart. Partially vinified in oak casks, it spends a long 120 months on the lees. This cuvee is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay.

WINE SHIPPING WITHIN THE UNITED STATES
Hart & Cru is happy to engage the services of a common carrier on behalf of you/the customer. However, upon purchase, ownership of and title to all alcoholic beverages passes from Hart & Cru to you/the buyer in the State of Ohio. In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations lies with the customer. By placing an order on this site and selecting shipping, you authorize Hart & Cru to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you.
All ‘Ground Shipping’ orders placed after 12pm on Wednesday will be shipped on Monday the following week in order to avoid bottles being held in non-temperature controlled facilities over the weekend. Orders placed before noon with 2-Day Air selected will be shipped the same day or on the date requested. We are happy to store your order for you until you are able to receive delivery. Please include note specifying desired ship date or reach out to us at thecru@hartandcru.com for any other requests.
The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout.
All orders will be sent with a 21+ signature as is legally required. The carrier delivering your order will be unable to leave the package on your front door, back porch, etc. without sign-off. Please ensure someone is home to receive. In the event that a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge the purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
