Chandon de Briailles, Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru 2013
Variety: Pinot Noir
Domaine Chandon de Briailles is quickly becoming one of the very finest to be found anywhere in the Côte D’Or; classically styled, terroir-driven Burgundies that age brilliantly. This historic estate of Domaine Chandon de Briailles was established in 1834. In 1988, Claude de Nicolay took over from her mother as winemaker—a mother to daughter legacy, not often seen in winemaking. She crafts traditionally styled wines from one of the Cote d’Or’s best terroirs. Claude’s management has been fully biodynamic since 2005 and organic since 1998. The winemaking incorporates a large percentage of whole cluster fermentation, making quality “vin de garde”—or wines meant to keep.
