At Santuvario, Ivano Barbaglia represents the new wave of growers helping to revive Boca, one of Italy’s smallest and most historic appellations. Once home to over 1,000 hectares of vines in the early 20th century, Boca had dwindled to near extinction before a recent resurgence brought new life to the region. Ivano himself came to wine later in life after a career as a musical instrument repairman was cut short, leading him and his wife Paola to return to their family land. Starting with just a few hectares of mixed plantings, they have steadily expanded, working old vines that overlook the local sanctuary that gives the estate its name.
The XIX Vino Rosso 2019 is co-fermented from all the varieties, with native yeasts driving a slow, natural fermentation. The grapes macerate together, allowing color, tannin, and aromatics to integrate from the start rather than being blended later. Fermentation is gentle and relatively unforced, followed by aging in neutral vessels, which keeps the focus on the raw material. The result feels seamless and a bit wild, with everything moving together rather than in layers.

WINE SHIPPING WITHIN THE UNITED STATES
Hart & Cru is happy to engage the services of a common carrier on behalf of you/the customer. However, upon purchase, ownership of and title to all alcoholic beverages passes from Hart & Cru to you/the buyer in the State of Ohio. In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations lies with the customer. By placing an order on this site and selecting shipping, you authorize Hart & Cru to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you.
All ‘Ground Shipping’ orders placed after 12pm on Wednesday will be shipped on Monday the following week in order to avoid bottles being held in non-temperature controlled facilities over the weekend. Orders placed before noon with 2-Day Air selected will be shipped the same day or on the date requested. We are happy to store your order for you until you are able to receive delivery. Please include note specifying desired ship date or reach out to us at thecru@hartandcru.com for any other requests.
The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout.
All orders will be sent with a 21+ signature as is legally required. The carrier delivering your order will be unable to leave the package on your front door, back porch, etc. without sign-off. Please ensure someone is home to receive. In the event that a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge the purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
