This family run cantina boasts three active generations in the winery. The estate is perched on a seaside hill in Varigotti and named Punta Crena for the promontory jutting out from the edge of the village and overlooking the Medditerranean. The Ruffino clan are experts of Vermentino and the other local varieties of the Ligurian coast. Their vineyards are less than a mile away from the cantina and are exposed to the salty breeze of the sea at elevation. Punta Crena prefers to do things the old way. Not interested in any organic or biodynamic label, they simply insist that they do it the same way their family has done it for 500 years. Whether those traditions are labeled organic becomes irrelevant when you are using farming techniques from a time when every farm was organic!
Pigato is Vermentino's speckled cousin! Remarkable for its pighe or freckles, Pigato is a rogue mutation of the local Vermentino varietal. A specialty of Liguria, Pigato is slightly heftier and more textured. Planted in rocky red clay, these vines have been around since 1973, with a subsequent planting in 1990. All ages of vines are picked and vinified on the lees for 4 months.

WINE SHIPPING WITHIN THE UNITED STATES
Hart & Cru is happy to engage the services of a common carrier on behalf of you/the customer. However, upon purchase, ownership of and title to all alcoholic beverages passes from Hart & Cru to you/the buyer in the State of Ohio. In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations lies with the customer. By placing an order on this site and selecting shipping, you authorize Hart & Cru to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you.
All ‘Ground Shipping’ orders placed after 12pm on Wednesday will be shipped on Monday the following week in order to avoid bottles being held in non-temperature controlled facilities over the weekend. Orders placed before noon with 2-Day Air selected will be shipped the same day or on the date requested. We are happy to store your order for you until you are able to receive delivery. Please include note specifying desired ship date or reach out to us at thecru@hartandcru.com for any other requests.
The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout.
All orders will be sent with a 21+ signature as is legally required. The carrier delivering your order will be unable to leave the package on your front door, back porch, etc. without sign-off. Please ensure someone is home to receive. In the event that a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge the purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
