Noaillac, Medoc 2019
Variety: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot
Château Noaillac, a well-known Cru Bourgeois property, has been owned by the Pages family since 1983. Third generation winemaker Damien Pages, considered a rising star in Medoc, has taken over running of the property in recent years and has made continual improvements to the winery and viticulture. Established by his grandfather Marc Pages, the family also owns and operates Chateau Le Tour de By, located in the northern Medoc. The family decided to invest in the then abandoned property after discovering its vineyards were planted in exceptional soils.
This left bank bordeaux blend comes from vines ranging from 20-30 years old. After the initial maceration period, the grapes are fermented in temperature controlled wooden vats. The wine is then aged for 12 months in French Oak barrels.
