Leoville Las Cases, Saint Julien 2nd GCC 1989Regular price $450.00 Save $-450.00
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot
This second growth, which qualified in the 1855 classification, is a serious wine among all the Bordeax wines available. There are three Bordeaux Chateaux under the name of ‘Leoville.’ Leo means lions and refers to the power and structure of these wines from Saint Julien. The wines age gracefully in the cellar, even for an eternity if you let it. Leoville is located on the Left Bank of Bordeaux in the village of Saint Julien.
This 1989 only just left the winery in 2018 as it was held back as a library wine. Some consider 1989 the best bottle they ever produced. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot lead the blend here.
