La Felce is the result of a team of family winemakers in the region of Liguria. In the northwest portion of Italy, nestled just under the Alps and bordering the sea of the same name is a province named La Spezia. There the family began Le Felce (the ferns) after the first World War, always having focused on viticulture. The third generation is spearheaded by Andrea, who also represents the surge of change in the wines. He opts to make natural wines with an homage linked to what he tasted as a child. The previous generations relied on technology, though he has abandoned this almost altogether as he simultaneously acquires more vines. A holistic approach to wine is the ideology where Andrea has firmly settled.
This is Vermentino coming from 40 year old vines from a selection of fruit from Monte dei Frati, mountain of friars. The wine is called ‘Non Sempre’ as the wine is only made from fantastic harvests. The wine does have two days of skin contact and ages in steel before release.
