Burgundy is full of hidden corners, and Vézelay might be one of its most exciting discoveries. Located in the northern reaches of Burgundy’s Yonne region, this historic village was once better known for its medieval basilica than its vineyards. Domaine de la Cadette helped change that. Founded by Jean and Catherine Montanet in 1987 and now guided by their son Valentin, the estate has spent decades proving that this overlooked corner of Burgundy deserves a place at the table. Farming organically and working with a light touch in the cellar, they create wines that are all about honesty, place, and the character of the land.
La Châtelaine 2025 is a pure expression of Vézelay Chardonnay. Made from organically farmed vines rooted in clay and limestone soils, the wine is fermented with native yeasts and aged on its lees with minimal intervention. It’s a beautiful example of what makes this region so compelling. Classic Burgundy energy, a strong sense of place, and a reminder that some of the most exciting wines are found just outside the spotlight.

WINE SHIPPING WITHIN THE UNITED STATES
Hart & Cru is happy to engage the services of a common carrier on behalf of you/the customer. However, upon purchase, ownership of and title to all alcoholic beverages passes from Hart & Cru to you/the buyer in the State of Ohio. In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations lies with the customer. By placing an order on this site and selecting shipping, you authorize Hart & Cru to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you.
All ‘Ground Shipping’ orders placed after 12pm on Wednesday will be shipped on Monday the following week in order to avoid bottles being held in non-temperature controlled facilities over the weekend. Orders placed before noon with 2-Day Air selected will be shipped the same day or on the date requested. We are happy to store your order for you until you are able to receive delivery. Please include note specifying desired ship date or reach out to us at thecru@hartandcru.com for any other requests.
The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout.
All orders will be sent with a 21+ signature as is legally required. The carrier delivering your order will be unable to leave the package on your front door, back porch, etc. without sign-off. Please ensure someone is home to receive. In the event that a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge the purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
