The story of Marino Colleoni began almost by accident. In the early 1990s, Marino and his wife Luisa left their hometown of Bergamo and purchased a small property outside Montalcino in Tuscany, drawn by the landscape and a dream of rural life. One evening while walking their land, they noticed grape clusters peeking through the branches of a tree. Curious, they cleared away the overgrown brush and discovered an old, forgotten vineyard hidden beneath the scrub. Rather than replanting, they restored the site and had it certified for Brunello di Montalcino. From that unexpected discovery grew a tiny estate, where the Colleonis farm organically and craft small quantities of traditional Sangiovese, letting the high-altitude northern slopes and marl soils shape wines known for their elegance and restraint.
From a tiny 1.5-hectare vineyard planted in 1998 in northern Montalcino at 500 meters of elevation, rooted in soils of clay and limestone, this wine reflects the quiet patience of its high-altitude site. After harvest, the grapes age for 48 months in large Slavonian oak botti (5–25 hL), well-seasoned casks between three and ten years old that allow the wine to evolve slowly while preserving the purity of Sangiovese.

WINE SHIPPING WITHIN THE UNITED STATES
Hart & Cru is happy to engage the services of a common carrier on behalf of you/the customer. However, upon purchase, ownership of and title to all alcoholic beverages passes from Hart & Cru to you/the buyer in the State of Ohio. In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations lies with the customer. By placing an order on this site and selecting shipping, you authorize Hart & Cru to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you.
All ‘Ground Shipping’ orders placed after 12pm on Wednesday will be shipped on Monday the following week in order to avoid bottles being held in non-temperature controlled facilities over the weekend. Orders placed before noon with 2-Day Air selected will be shipped the same day or on the date requested. We are happy to store your order for you until you are able to receive delivery. Please include note specifying desired ship date or reach out to us at thecru@hartandcru.com for any other requests.
The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout.
All orders will be sent with a 21+ signature as is legally required. The carrier delivering your order will be unable to leave the package on your front door, back porch, etc. without sign-off. Please ensure someone is home to receive. In the event that a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge the purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
