Variety: Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc

There are sweet wines from around the world, and then there are the cherished wines of Yquem. The famed estate has history dating back to 1593 and has exchanged hands a few times over history with the quality rising with each passing. The property is classified as a Premier Cru Superieur “Superior First Growth”, and was part of the official classification in 1855. There are 310 acres of vineyards planted in Sauternes with only 100 in production at any time.  The chateau makes two wines: the Sauternes which is sweet, and ‘Y’ Bordeaux Blanc which is dry. Both wines undergo the same meticulous attention in the vineyard, harvesting and winemaking are completed rather differently. Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc are the foundation for both. 

“Y” is a dry white wine made from both early harvested Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon that’s achieved the perfect ripeness. The wine was first made for the 1996 harvest, as there was a call for more wine that was fresh and crisp. The wine is now made in every vintage.

WINE SHIPPING VIA USPS / UPS

The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout. 

In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations or tax requirements rests with the customer. 

It is the purchaser’s responsibility to provide a current, shippable, physical delivery address. In the event a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
