Adrien Dhondt's family has been making wine in Champagne for generations. He is is the latest who fell in love with the family practice. However, Adrien is flipping the traditions, not on their heads or anything, but just a bit, so they are more comfortable in today's wine industry. This eponymous project is a tightly controlled negociant house mostly interested in showcasing the singular terroir of Mesnil. Bringing a Burgundian philosophy to the cellar and as little hand as possible, Adrien Dhondt exemplifies what the creative intersection of winemaking and business looks like.
For this bottling, Dhondt aims to showcase the specific terroir of southern Cote de Blancs. Due to the unique structure of the soils, Dhondt chooses a different site for each vintage. For 2019, Dhondt chose to work with three plots in Mesnil sur Oger - Les Potées, Chétillons de haut, and Les Coullemets, sites that respectively go from the top of the slope to the bottom, thereby producing a comprehensive sampling of the terroir of the hillside in one bottling. Vinified in barrel and lees aged for 8 months. Dosed at 1.5g/L, disgorged in February 2023.

Hart & Cru is happy to engage the services of a common carrier on behalf of you/the customer. However, upon purchase, ownership of and title to all alcoholic beverages passes from Hart & Cru to you/the buyer in the State of Ohio. In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations lies with the customer. By placing an order on this site and selecting shipping, you authorize Hart & Cru to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you.
All ‘Ground Shipping’ orders placed after 12pm on Wednesday will be shipped on Monday the following week in order to avoid bottles being held in non-temperature controlled facilities over the weekend. Orders placed before noon with 2-Day Air selected will be shipped the same day or on the date requested. We are happy to store your order for you until you are able to receive delivery. The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout.
All orders will be sent with a 21+ signature as is legally required. The carrier delivering your order will be unable to leave the package on your front door, back porch, etc. without sign-off. Please ensure someone is home to receive. In the event that a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge the purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
