It’s rare that a Burgundy winemaker has success on just their first vintage, but Pierre Girardin has defied all odds. Even with the first, there was a distinctive voice to the wines not often seen so early in a winemaker’s career. Working in the cellar almost from the time he could walk, he is now the 13th generation of his family making wine. Even though Girardin senior sold the domain in 2011, he kept 4.5 hectares of his best plots to pass on to Pierre. Beyond the domain wines, Pierre continues to purchase from growers who share the same views.
One of the most prestigious and sophisticated sites in Chassagne, very high on the slope, that lends a deep, dense, powerful, and highly mineral wine. Presented in an impressive 1500ml bottle.
