Often a wine growing region undergoes a transition in quality, and this may derive from the ideas of a radical. Anselme Selosse was this person in the region of Champagne. During his coming of age during the 1970s, the region was boasting huge quantities of fruit; there was absolutely no incentive for quality, let alone organic farming and lower yields. After spending years studying oenology in Burgundy, perspective taught him that there was more to Champagne than making a “brand” and bulk wine with no expression. After taking over his father’s estate, the mission for radical change began. Many commend Anselme for his winemaking techniques, though it’s really his relationship with terroir and viticulture where he exponentially shines. He is often recognized as the most original winemaker in Champagne. His son, Guillame, took over the estate in 2018 and carries the torch seamlessly for the next generation.
This is one of Anselme’s classic wines with a lengthy ageing process in the bottle, before and after its disgorgement. Initial comes together as three vintages. It is released five years after the most recent vintage that goes into the blend. As a Grand Cru wine, the Chardonnay comes from the Grand Cru village of Avize.

Hart & Cru is happy to engage the services of a common carrier on behalf of you/the customer. However, upon purchase, ownership of and title to all alcoholic beverages passes from Hart & Cru to you/the buyer in the State of Ohio. In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations lies with the customer. By placing an order on this site and selecting shipping, you authorize Hart & Cru to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you.
All ‘Ground Shipping’ orders placed after 12pm on Wednesday will be shipped on Monday the following week in order to avoid bottles being held in non-temperature controlled facilities over the weekend. Orders placed before noon with 2-Day Air selected will be shipped the same day or on the date requested. We are happy to store your order for you until you are able to receive delivery. Please include note specifying desired ship date or reach out to us at thecru@hartandcru.com for any other requests.
The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout.
All orders will be sent with a 21+ signature as is legally required. The carrier delivering your order will be unable to leave the package on your front door, back porch, etc. without sign-off. Please ensure someone is home to receive. In the event that a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge the purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
