An Oregon yankee in King Chenin’s Court??? Brendan Stater-West may have never imagined his name on a bottle of Loire Valley Chenin Blanc when he took the job at the Paris wine shop that ignited his passions, but it is a reality now. He may have never imagined apprenticing under the winemaker of the particular bottle that sparked that ignition of passion, but that also happened. That same bottle of Guiberteau led him to the producer Romain Guiberteau and Saumur, where he begged Romain for a job in the vineyards. It was Romain who leased him a plot, allowing him to begin his own domaine! Fast forward a few years and now Brendan owns his own property in Bizay where he creates his Chenin expressions from grapes grown in the ‘tuffeau’ limestone that creates the bedrock layer for which Saumur is famous.
This 100% Chenin Blanc wine is vinified whole cluster in stainless steel vats. After initial fermentation the juice is moved to oak barrels for 12 months. The wine is then racked back into stainless holding vats until bottling. Using only natural yeast, with no fermentation agents added, this wine is truly crafted by the land and grape itself, with Brendan as its steward.

We do our best to have all orders placed BEFORE NOON delivered SAME DAY. All orders placed after noon, will be delivered the next day. Cincinnati orders over $150 in certain areas will receive FREE DELIVERY. Delivery distances defined by zip codes. See delivery zones below.

WINE SHIPPING VIA COMMON CARRIER
Hart & Cru is happy to engage the services of a common carrier on behalf of you/the customer. However, upon purchase, ownership of and title to all alcoholic beverages passes from Hart & Cru to you/the buyer in the State of Ohio. In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations lies with the customer. By placing an order on this site and selecting shipping, you authorize Hart & Cru to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you.
All ‘Ground Shipping’ orders placed after 12pm on Wednesday will be shipped on Monday the following week in order to avoid bottles being held in non-temperature controlled facilities over the weekend. Orders placed before noon with 2-Day Air selected will be shipped the same day or on the date requested. We are happy to store your order for you until you are able to receive delivery. Please include note specifying desired ship date or reach out to us at thecru@hartandcru.com for any other requests.
The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout.
All orders will be sent with a 21+ signature as is legally required. The carrier delivering your order will be unable to leave the package on your front door, back porch, etc. without sign-off. Please ensure someone is home to receive. In the event that a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge the purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
