Tenuta Tascante is the Etna estate of the Tasca d’Almerita family, one of Sicily’s longest established wine families with documented history dating back to the nineteenth century. The Tascante project was created to focus exclusively on Mount Etna, where the family acquired vineyards on the northern slope near Randazzo. Rather than applying a house style, the estate was designed to study Etna’s altitude, volcanic soils, and long growing season through individual contrade and parcel selection.
The vineyards sit between roughly 600 and 800 meters above sea level on ancient lava flows composed of basalt, ash, and volcanic sand. Farming is sustainable and largely manual due to the steep terrain and fragmented vineyard layout. Tasca d’Almerita’s experience across Sicily provides technical depth, while Tenuta Tascante operates independently with a site focused approach. The estate is frequently referenced as a reliable and serious producer on Etna, particularly for wines that reflect specific vineyard areas without heavy cellar influence.
Sciaranuova Bianco comes from the Sciaranuova contrada on Etna’s northern slope. The vineyards are planted primarily to Carricante on porous volcanic soils that limit vigor and support slow ripening. Fruit is harvested by hand and fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel. The wine is aged on lees in tank before bottling, with no oak used, allowing the volcanic character of the site to remain central from vintage to vintage.

Hart & Cru is happy to engage the services of a common carrier on behalf of you/the customer. However, upon purchase, ownership of and title to all alcoholic beverages passes from Hart & Cru to you/the buyer in the State of Ohio. In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations lies with the customer. By placing an order on this site and selecting shipping, you authorize Hart & Cru to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you.
All ‘Ground Shipping’ orders placed after 12pm on Wednesday will be shipped on Monday the following week in order to avoid bottles being held in non-temperature controlled facilities over the weekend. Orders placed before noon with 2-Day Air selected will be shipped the same day or on the date requested. We are happy to store your order for you until you are able to receive delivery. Please include note specifying desired ship date or reach out to us at thecru@hartandcru.com for any other requests.
The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout.
All orders will be sent with a 21+ signature as is legally required. The carrier delivering your order will be unable to leave the package on your front door, back porch, etc. without sign-off. Please ensure someone is home to receive. In the event that a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge the purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
