At Krug, the Grande Cuvée remains the clearest expression of the house’s philosophy: to recreate, every year, the fullest expression of Champagne through blending across vintages. Founded in 1843, Krug later became part of the LVMH group, but notably retained full control over its winemaking decisions, ensuring that scale never came at the expense of quality. Every parcel is vinified separately, often in small oak barrels, allowing the house to build its blends with precision and consistency while maintaining its uncompromising standards.
The 172nd Edition is based on the 2016 vintage, supported by an extensive library of reserve wines. Fermentation takes place in small oak barrels, followed by long aging on the lees before release. The blend brings together depth and freshness, with a broad, structured feel and a long, steady finish shaped by both time and careful assembly.

WINE SHIPPING WITHIN THE UNITED STATES
Hart & Cru is happy to engage the services of a common carrier on behalf of you/the customer. However, upon purchase, ownership of and title to all alcoholic beverages passes from Hart & Cru to you/the buyer in the State of Ohio. In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations lies with the customer. By placing an order on this site and selecting shipping, you authorize Hart & Cru to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you.
All ‘Ground Shipping’ orders placed after 12pm on Wednesday will be shipped on Monday the following week in order to avoid bottles being held in non-temperature controlled facilities over the weekend. Orders placed before noon with 2-Day Air selected will be shipped the same day or on the date requested. We are happy to store your order for you until you are able to receive delivery. Please include note specifying desired ship date or reach out to us at thecru@hartandcru.com for any other requests.
The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout.
All orders will be sent with a 21+ signature as is legally required. The carrier delivering your order will be unable to leave the package on your front door, back porch, etc. without sign-off. Please ensure someone is home to receive. In the event that a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge the purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
