Tenuta di Valgiano, established in 1992, is by no means a new estate or producer, however they are brand-new to Ohio as of summer 2023! The Cru visited this property at the start of harvest and were immediately charmed by winemaker Laura di Collobiano and partner Moreno Petrini. Their property, which boasts olive groves, bee hives, chickens, a 11th century villa and chapel, as well as 40 acres of vineyards, is located in Lucca, the coastal part of Tuscany. While the duo does grows the Tuscan classic grape of Sangiovese, they also grow international varieties such as Merlot and Syrah, citing the grapes presence as an addition brought to the area during the Napoleonic wars.
“Practical biodynamic” farming is by and large at the forefront of their terroir driven products. The vineyards are sprinkled with indigenous herb and vegetable seeds at the start of each planting season to ensure a healthy ecosystem and soil structure. In addition to wine, Valgiano makes delicious wild honey and olive oil which we were lucky enough to get our hands on! Their olive oil has received much acclaim in recent years and has won numerous awards including the prestigious including the prestigious Ercole Olivario.
The farm of Tenuta di Valgiano has 3000 olive trees. They make extra virgin olive oil that is perfect on its own with bread, but is also wonderful mixed with their wild honeys for the perfect Arabian style breakfast.

We do our best to have all orders placed BEFORE NOON delivered SAME DAY. All orders placed after noon, will be delivered the next day. Cincinnati orders over $150 in certain areas will receive FREE DELIVERY. Delivery distances defined by zip codes. See delivery zones below.

WINE SHIPPING VIA COMMON CARRIER
Hart & Cru is happy to engage the services of a common carrier on behalf of you/the customer. However, upon purchase, ownership of and title to all alcoholic beverages passes from Hart & Cru to you/the buyer in the State of Ohio. In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations lies with the customer. By placing an order on this site and selecting shipping, you authorize Hart & Cru to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you.
All ‘Ground Shipping’ orders placed after 12pm on Wednesday will be shipped on Monday the following week in order to avoid bottles being held in non-temperature controlled facilities over the weekend. Orders placed before noon with 2-Day Air selected will be shipped the same day or on the date requested. We are happy to store your order for you until you are able to receive delivery. Please include note specifying desired ship date or reach out to us at thecru@hartandcru.com for any other requests.
The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout.
All orders will be sent with a 21+ signature as is legally required. The carrier delivering your order will be unable to leave the package on your front door, back porch, etc. without sign-off. Please ensure someone is home to receive. In the event that a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge the purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
