Join us for a one-of-a-kind event of wine, conversation, and culture as Hart & Cru partners with James Beard Award-Winning Chef Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson, and Winemaker Tommaso Zanuttini to celebrate the heritage and soul of Northeastern Italy—and beyond.

We’ll gather at the historic Mercantile Library, a space that honors storytelling, making it the perfect setting for an exploration of Italy through its wines and the passionate people behind them.

Kevin is a founder of HART & CRU. With roots in Cincinnati’s top restaurants and deep ties to global producers, he brings a
thoughtful, curated approach to wine—blending education, experience and most importantly, hospitality. He’s a long-time friend of Mercantile Library.

LACHLAN MACKINNON-PATTERSON

Lachlan travels to Ohio with a culinary pedigree shaped by time at The French Laundry and as co-owner of Colorado’s acclaimed restaurants Frasca Food and Wine and Tavernetta. He is also co-founder of Scarpetta Wine and Benvenusa.

TOMMASO ZANUTTINI

Joining all the way from the Adriatic Sea is winemaker at Ronc Platat in the Colli Orientali del Friuli-Venezia Giulia — one of the most respected estates in the region.

THE EVENT | We will start with a 30-45 minute talk on the culture of the Italian Northeast. After the discussion, guests will enjoy a walk-around tasting of 14 wines from the Benvenusa portfolio. The lineup includes selections from Tommaso’s Ronc Platat estate, as well as other dynamic producers from Northeastern Italy and neighboring regions—many of which are making their Ohio debut. Three bites from the Cookbook ‘Friuli Food and Wine’ will be prepared by Sotto.
