Ryan Stirm is the face behind Stirm Wines. Ryan’s story began with his studies at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he focuses on Wine and Viticulture. He had many mentors along the way, including Justin Willett of Lieu dit. He became inspired by many harvest trips abroad to Austria and Australia. His project, Stirm Wines, focuses on vines divided between Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz with the intention of making authentic wines directly reflecting the earth from which they’ve come. He uses an old school mentality in the vineyard, and simple, thoughtful ways to tell the stories of California terroir.
Wirz Vineyard is a historic site planted in 1902 with Zinfandel, and today is farmed by Pat Wirz. It is planted at a high elevation of 920-1000 feet located in the Gabilan Mountains. These old vines ripen late and have limited yielding of intense, complex fruit. 9% Riesling from the same vineyard is added to the final blend. The wine spends 18 months in ten-year-old barrels.

Dan Marioni began his namesake winery, Marioni Wines, in 2019! After years of working under the Sonoma Mountain Label with Nic Coturri, Dan built a healthy foundation of winemaking, drawing inspiration from both old and new worlds. With Marioni, he strengthens his family’s Sonoma roots while forging a path forward of natural wine, honing in on each vintage and site. Farming is all organic; microbiology is encouraged in the vineyard. Winemaking is all about what happens in the vineyard, and less about what happens in the cellar. Keep an eye out for the Marioni wines as they continue to grow!
"Fields" is a hodgepodge of several red varieties that thrive in Mendocino, California, an area that’s often very warm. The grapes are all sourced from a single vineyard in Mendocino County grown by fifth generation farmers. The Carignan in particular comes from 90 year old, dry farmed vines. The blend is aged in neutral French oak.
