      The Lescure Domaine is among the newer winemaking families, but just as fierce. Chantal Lescure was begun in 1975 by Chantal and her husband Xavier. They claimed 18 hectares of land strewn throughout Chambolle-Musigny in the Cote de Nuits and the Volnay in Cote de Beaune. Today their two sons coordinate the running of the estate and farm from parcels running from Dijon in the north to Meursault in the south. The Domaine takes organic farming very seriously, as they have been practicing full organics since 2000; they're even certified by Ecocert.

      “Les Verduns” is situated directly next door to other Pommard plots, though its positioning is outside the appellation parameter. In short, the wine is Pommard quality, even though it clocks in as a Bourgogne Rouge. The vines are 45 years old and the wine is done in whole cluster, which makes for some beautiful aromatics. Plenty of aging potential for “Les Verduns.”

      A harmonious balance of red and black fruits, licorice and mint, chalky tannins and a whisper of oak. Les Damodes is a limestone vineyard named for the splicing of “les dames hautes”, rocks looking like tall ladies, as elegant as this wine.

      “Les Vallerots” is a Premier Cru classified plot situated in a deep valley where it gets very cold in winter and hot in summer. The fruit is all destemmed; oak aging takes place in barrels, about 50% of which are new. The aging usually takes about 18 to 20 months before bottling.

      Typically the Passetoutgrain style boasts about two thirds Gamay in its blend, but this wine come from Nuits-Saint-Georges, so it is only right that it is comprised more of Pinot Noir. The blend is two thirds Pinot Noir to one third Gamay. The grapes are usually grown and harvested together in the same field and then "all thrown in together," which is how the wine gets the name "Passetoutgrain."

      “La Grande Chatelaine” is the name of this cooler plot that’s a bit removed from the rest of the prized Beaune plots. The vines are about 40 years old here. The aging is a lengthier style with up to 8 months of fermentation, and then another 12 to 15 months aging in neutral barrels.

      This plot, which means simply “the vineyards,” borders the adjacent appellation of Beaune. The vines are 35 years old coming from high elevation. The wine is destemmed and aged in barrels, 30% of which are new.

      A structured and red-fruity wine of southern exposed old vines. This wine is a bit of a rarity, coming from one hectare of the three that make up Les Bertins, a quality plot of soil on the Volnay side of Pommard.

      The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout. 

      In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations or tax requirements rests with the customer. 

      It is the purchaser’s responsibility to provide a current, shippable, physical delivery address. In the event a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.

      Variety: Chardonnay

      The Lescure Domaine is among the newer winemaking families, but just as fierce. Chantal Lescure was begun in 1975 by Chantal and her husband Xavier. They claimed 18 hectares of land strewn throughout Chambolle-Musigny in the Cote de Nuits and the Volnay in Cote de Beaune. Today their two sons coordinate the running of the estate and farm from parcels running from Dijon in the north to Meursault in the south. The Domaine takes organic farming very seriously, as they have been practicing full organics since 2000; they're even certified by Ecocert.
