As great wine is made in the vineyard, farming is done entirely by hand while most in Sancerre continue to use mechanization. Many of their principles are likened to the Burgundian approach in that wines are a product of the vintage and parcels are vinified separately. The domain is located in the eastern part of Sancerre along the Loire river where a hard mineral known as silex is prominent in the soils. The Vacheron brothers aim to make a Sancerre worthy of aging; they are at the top of their game right now. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhile Sancerre has long made a unique style of Pinot Noir, this one is made more in the style of Burgundy a couple hours away. Some growers prioritize their white wines, though Vacheron treasures their reds just as much.
