The Vacheron family puts farming at the top of their priorities having converted to biodynamic in 2005. As great wine is made in the vineyard, farming is done entirely by hand while most in Sancerre continue to use mechanization. Many of their principles are likened to the Burgundian approach in that wines are a product of the vintage and parcels are vinified separately. The domain is located in the eastern part of Sancerre along the Loire river where a hard mineral known as silex is prominent in the soils. The Vacheron brothers aim to make a Sancerre worthy of aging; they are at the top of their game right now.

While their domain is on the eastern side of Sancerre closer to the river, this bottling blends both the silex-dominant vines of the east along with the limestone-planted vines of the west. This wine is about Sancerre as a whole showcasing balance and finesse. It's just aged at least 4 months in tank before bottling.
