Variety: Aglianico, Montepulciano, and Barbera
The Tendu project is a family endeavor made by Steve and Jill Matthiasson with the intent to create authentic wine from classic varietals. Steve Matthiasson is a six-time nominee for a James Beard award, a serious achievement in the wine industry. He has also been named “Winemaker of the Year” by both Food & Wine Magazine and The San Francisco Chronicle. Steve and Jill are long time friends and mentors to Hart & Cru.
Tendu is nothing more or less than a bistro wine! If you close your eyes, you might be transported to France, Italy, or elsewhere, let the wine lead the way! This is the bottle to pull out as the crowd pleaser with all manner of food. It's highly approachable with the right amount of seriousness. These Italian varieties come from the Windmill vineyard outside of Yolo County near Sacramento, California. The vineyard is strewn with pink gravel and practices organic. Tendu wine has no added sulfur and ages in neutral oak. The Matthiassons change the Tendu blend every year; this is their third bottling.
