Regis Bouvier, Bourgogne Rouge 2018Regular price $28.00 Save $-28.00
Variety: Pinot Noir
Regis Bouvier is a rarity in Burgundy. He has been hand selected for the Kermit Lynch portfolio and makes exceptional Burgundy. His bragging rights are his ability to make all three colors of Burgundy’s rainbow—red, white, and rose, and he does all three well. Furthermore, each color stands apart from other wines in their category. They somehow maintain excitement and refinement at the same time. The home base for many of his vineyards hail from the lesser known village of Marsannay, as well as Fixin, Morey-St-Denis, and Gevrey-Chambertin. It is safe to say that Bouvier is making value-driven wine with impeccable quality, while maintaining 6,000 cases annually.
This Bourgogne Rouge is sourced from three parcels inside the Marsannay city limits, but outside the Marsannay appellation limits. We like to think of this as a declassified Marsannay bottling at Bourgogne Rouge price point. The Pinot Noir is aged in foudre for six months. The average vine age is 35 years.
