Three of France’s greatest winemakers came together to create a project in California, though why in the heck would this interest them? It turns out that even being a French winemaker is unexpectedly limiting, particularly when local wine laws prohibit creativity. Domaine Montille partners Étienne de Montille with Brian Sieve in Burgundy and Rodolphe Peters of Pierre Peters in Champagne set their sights on the maritime region of Santa Rita Hills, and ultimately partnered up with Santa Barbara winemaker/native Justin Willet of Tyler Winery. The proximity to the ocean keeps the vines cool and the various marine soil types make hauntingly beautiful wines. This project really is the best of the winemaking minds of France coupled with the best sites the New World has to offer–a perfect place to make Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and sparkling wine. 

This Pinot Noir is sourced from multiple sites in Santa Rita Hills, some of which comes from our friends over at the Domaine de La Cote vineyard. The wine is aged for 18 months in oak, 10% of which is new. This is the winemaker's answer to a village level wine.

We do our best to have all orders placed BEFORE NOON delivered SAME DAY. All orders placed after noon, will be delivered the next day. Cincinnati orders over $150 in certain areas will receive FREE DELIVERY. Delivery distances defined by zip codes. See delivery zones below.

WINE SHIPPING VIA USPS / UPS

The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout. 

In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations or tax requirements rests with the customer. 

It is the purchaser’s responsibility to provide a current, shippable, physical delivery address. In the event a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
