San Lorenzo is a historic property, at least in the world of Montalcino producers. The name comes from Lorenzo Ferretti who originally purchased the land of the estate during the late 19th century. Generation after generation, the property operated as a farm that raised livestock and made wine for home consumption only. The family continued to plant more vines and sold the fruit to other wineries. It wasn’t until the great surge of interest in Brunello around 1997 that the family, namely Luciano, began to bottle their own Sangiovese. They bottled their first wine in 2003 and haven’t looked back since. 

This Rosso comes from the youngest vineyard on the property. The aging begins in steel, then goes into barrels of various sizes for one year. Before release, it ages in bottle for three months. Contrary to the Brunello, the Rosso is fresh, fruit, and better to drink right away.

WINE SHIPPING VIA USPS / UPS

The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout. 

In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations or tax requirements rests with the customer. 

It is the purchaser’s responsibility to provide a current, shippable, physical delivery address. In the event a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
