Variety: Sauvignon Blanc
Neal Rosenthal visited the domain of Lucien Crochet back in 1981 after a trusted tip-off from a peer. Lucien Crochet alone has incredible talent in just one of his fingers, though the magnitude of the domain wouldn’t have grown in this way if it wasn’t for his marriage to the daughter of Lucien Picard. Lucien Crochet was able to expand upon the work of his father-in-law, who also made wine in Sancerre. The estate plants mostly Sauvignon Blanc and a small amount of Pinot Noir, all devoted to organic farming.
This Sancerre comes from three different subzones in Sancerre based in Oxfordian limestone-clay soils. The wine spends a considerable amount of time on its lees and ages only in stainless steel.
