La Felce is the result of a team of family winemakers in the region of Liguria. In the northwest portion of Italy, nestled just under the Alps and bordering the sea of the same name is a province named La Spezia. There the family began Le Felce (the ferns) after the first World War, always having focused on viticulture. The third generation is spearheaded by Andrea, who also represents the surge of change in the wines. He opts to make natural wines with an homage linked to what he tasted as a child. The previous generations relied on technology, though he has abandoned this almost altogether as he simultaneously acquires more vines. A holistic approach to wine is the ideology where Andrea has firmly settled.
This fruit all comes from 40 year old vines. The winemaking is minimal at most, though the fruit does spend time on its skins for two days. It is aged in steel and released immediately to be consumed with any form of seafood naturally. It is salty and minerally, light and easy.
