Both her persona and her wines are playful and elegant, yet serious and purposeful. She took over the Foradori estate in Trentino at the age of 20 when her father passed. In the area of Campo Rotaliano, the production of the Teroldego variety had become largely industrial using the dominant clone. She fought long and hard to diversify this variety so that the true colors of the Teroldego could show. Though her farming began conventionally, it grew from certified organic to certified biodynamic. Initially her winemaking was more heavy handed, though now it has a lighter touch with the usage of large barrels and clay amphorae. It’s clear that her name is not going anywhere.

Manzoni is a rare crossing of Pinot Bianco and Riesling made Luigi Manzoni. The juice is aged on the skins for a couple days before it goes on to age in cement and then acacia casks for a year. A fun, yet serious expression that could not only describe the Italian Alps, but also the personality of Elizabeth Foradori.
