Variety: Mourvèdre, Grenache, and Cinsault

Honoré is the patriarch for which this domain derived its name. He and his son, Alain Pascal are both herculean in size and strength, though with a tenderness that comes through in the wines. The quality of their Bandol fruit remains exceptional, though they sold most of their fruit to other great producers like Domaine Ott and Chateau de Pibarnon. It wasn’t until the death of Honoré that Alain made the jump to begin Domaine du Gros ‘Noré, farming sixteen hectares with his brother, Guy. Alain distinguishes himself from other producers with his decision to use 80% Mourvèdre in his blend when wine law dictates he uses at least 50%. He chooses to let the grapes ripen fully on the vines allowing for fully concentrated wine with character and finesse.

This is a true ‘vin de garde,’ a wine for aging. You could of course drink this soon, but it will be singing a few years from now. The wine comes from 30 year old vines coming from clay soils and aged for 18 months in large barrels. Pair this wine with grilled lamb or pork just as Alain Pascal would have.

WINE SHIPPING VIA USPS / UPS

The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout. 

In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations or tax requirements rests with the customer. 

It is the purchaser’s responsibility to provide a current, shippable, physical delivery address. In the event a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
