The Lescure Domaine is among the newer winemaking families, but just as fierce. Chantal Lescure was begun in 1975 by Chantal and her husband Xavier. They claimed 18 hectares of land strewn throughout Chambolle-Musigny in the Cote de Nuits and the Volnay in Cote de Beaune. Today their two sons coordinate the running of the estate and farm from parcels running from Dijon in the north to Meursault in the south. The Domaine takes organic farming very seriously, as they have been practicing full organics since 2000; they're even certified by Ecocert.
From the famed village of Meursault is the terroir of "Les Pellands" in the southern plain. Fermentation is done in the barrel for 14 months, 20% of which is new. Then the wine ages in tank for two to three months.
