At the time of its purchase in 1906, Carlo Quaglia was its owner, whose great-grandson now directs the distillery. The recipes of the classic sweet vermouths, the blanc and rosso, have been passed down over the years from one generation to the next, each son enhancing Berto’s recipe with their own vision. Bèrto comes from the nicknamed nephew of the chef who resurrected and recreated the Quaglia recipe back in the 1930s.
