A single parcel covering more than 41 hectares makes this estate stand out, along with its famous yellow façade. Like many châteaux in the region, its history has seen ups and downs and several changes of ownership. It all began in the late 17th century with the marriage of Étienne de Lafon and the owner of Domaine Rochet. A member of Parliament from the Gironde, Lafon planted the estate’s first vines. The property remained in the Lafon family until the 1880s. Château Lafon-Rochet was classified as a Fourth Growth in the 1855 Universal Exhibition in Paris. The estate experienced a period of renewal and growth in the 1960s, followed by another change of ownership in 2021.
The château enjoys excellent exposure and sits between two of the Médoc’s most renowned estates, Château Lafite-Rothschild and Château Cos d’Estournel.
Left Bank Bordeaux, the northernmost of the six communal appellations in the Médoc, from a Fourth Growth (Quatrième Cru) in 2016 is always something special to share. The origins of this château date back to the late 17th century.

Hart & Cru is happy to engage the services of a common carrier on behalf of you/the customer. However, upon purchase, ownership of and title to all alcoholic beverages passes from Hart & Cru to you/the buyer in the State of Ohio. In the case of shipments outside of Ohio, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations lies with the customer. By placing an order on this site and selecting shipping, you authorize Hart & Cru to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you.
All ‘Ground Shipping’ orders placed after 12pm on Wednesday will be shipped on Monday the following week in order to avoid bottles being held in non-temperature controlled facilities over the weekend. Orders placed before noon with 2-Day Air selected will be shipped the same day or on the date requested. We are happy to store your order for you until you are able to receive delivery. Please include note specifying desired ship date or reach out to us at thecru@hartandcru.com for any other requests.
The cost of shipping varies depending on which shipping option the buyer selects, as well as destination and number of bottles. The appropriate shipping rates will be calculated at checkout.
All orders will be sent with a 21+ signature as is legally required. The carrier delivering your order will be unable to leave the package on your front door, back porch, etc. without sign-off. Please ensure someone is home to receive. In the event that a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser, or after three delivery attempts by the carrier, Hart & Cru reserves the right to charge the purchaser the applicable carrier fee for rerouting to an alternative address or re-shipping to the same address.
