Wild Nature Wines, Pinot Grigio 2019Regular price $15.00 Save $-15.00
Wild Nature is a winery located in both the Verona and Venice provinces. The project is one focused on terroir, a mindfulness for nature, particularly the animals that inhabit the vineyard sites. In addition to their organic practices, they are also firm believers in biodiversity in the vineyard, which the animals on each of their bottes reiterates. The winery has been pioneering organic farming since 1974 in northern Italy. Alongside their vineyards, you will find tree-lined banks, meadows, and ponds, encouraging the abundance of wildlife.
This is made from the Glera grape. The vines come from the lagoon near Venice. The soils are clay and calcareous. The wine goes through the Charmat method, which is tank fermented for 8 weeks. The second fermentation happens in the tank, thus different from the Champagne method.

Variety: Pinot Grigio
In the flood of bad Pinot Grigio around the world, there are a few producers that still care about the quality of mainstream grapes. Venica & Venica was founded in 1930 and have always been at the top of the game. Their reputation has been accomplished by incredible vineyards and serious work ethic for many years. 28 hectares of vines in the Dolegna district of Collio sets this family apart from the many grocery store labels seem today. For over 80 years the family has worked only with hillside vineyards. Whenever there is extra money from the vintage, it goes back into the estate in some form of upgrading, either vineyard or winery. The wines always show perfume and texture, something that is lacking most of the wines of Friuli.

Varietal: Pinot Grigio
The Maccan family has sustained three generations of winemakers in Friuli Grave, a region located in the northeastern area of Italy. The owner, Stefano Maccan, sums up the family’s vision with this quote, “My family’s passion for farming grew inside me until it became something more than mere curiosity and turned into determination... the determination to finally produce my own family wine.” Even though the Maccan family had been making wine dating back to 1788, it wasn’t until 2012 that Tenuta Maccan was an established domain. The family creates other bottlings including Chardonnay, a classic Ramato Pinot Grigio, Ribolla Gialla, Sauvignon Blanc, Refosco, and Pinot Nero. Here, the Maccan team pays homage to tradition while innovating with their organic and certified sustainable farming techniques.
