Nestled in between the hills are the Sangiovese vines and olive trees. Though the property was farmed for hundreds of years, it did not become the winery of Tenuta di Carleone until 2012. Karl Egger and Sean O’Callaghan both operate the winery with a clear vision, making Sangiovese in a classic way, though with Sean’s twist. Nothing is added to the wine, grappa, or cold-pressed olive oils. Keep an eye on their other Sangiovese expressions, Il Guercio, Uno, Chianti Classico, and their grappa of Sangiovese named “Zero.”

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0268/9076/4311/files/Tenuta_di_Carleone_Chianti_Classico_2021_a84b5881-5e68-4ca8-9ca2-107e88750a29.jpg?v=1713884722
madame-de-beaucaillou-haut-medoc-2019
Madame de Beaucaillou, Haut Medoc 2021

Variety: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc

The second wine produced by the renowned Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, a 2nd Grand Cru Classé estate in the Saint-Julien appellation of Bordeaux. Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is one of the top estates in Bordeaux, known for its exceptional wines that we enjoy often. Ferdnand Blondelet, the previous generation, is to thank for much of the identity of the winery today. Fifty years ago, he had been endeavoring in farming in the area of Pouilly sur Loire when he decided to focus solely on viticulture. He later acquired more land in Sancerre, which gave the family another appellation in which to bottle their wine. Fernand then became the first of the Tinels to create a wine-tasting cellar.
